as well. tim pawlenty, 3%. jon huntsman, who has staked a lot of his campaign on winning new hampshire and had this big rollout with a lot of media coverage, only at 2% at this point. he is right there with herman cain and newt gingrich. surprising numbers there and very good numbers for mitt romney. we mentioned in that poll there, tim pawlenty, he also is not doing very well in that poll. he is hoping, obviously, to win iowa where is he staking all of his campaign and brought what is basically a pretty good political young gun on his squad, sarah huckabee sanders, the doubt of mike huckabee, who won the iowa caucuses back in 2008, she has joined his campaign. so you can say that tim pawlenty is looking for some huck luck. and sarah huckabee was a big part of the huckabee campaign and will be a big part of pawlenty's campaign. if pawlenty will do well in iowa, sarah huckabee will be a big bet to help him because right now, he needs all of the help he can get. >> jim acosta, thanks. your next political update in an hour. always get all of the political news 24/7 at cnn/politics.com. >>

poll with the first primary state of new hampshire. the numbers are not so good for candidates like jon huntsman and newt gingrich who were the unromneys. it's no surprise romney is taking some abuse from democrats who hope the governor had conflicting comments on the economy >> i didn't say things were worse. the economy has not turned around. >> what are this president has done has slowed the economy. he didn't create the recession, but he made it worse. >> worry some as the key pillars see him as a front-runner by default. the tea party activists would like to see other choices. >> my prediction is that somebody emerges to fill the vacuum. the true fiscal conservative in the race >> here doesn't fit the bill. you are waiting for a tea party savior. >> we are not waiting. we are shopping. >> not all are sold either. >> there those who see his record when he was governor of massachusetts. he was not consistent with the platform that he ran on four years ago >> republicans note the gop has a tradition will nominating front-runners when the party thinks it's their turn. >> we're saw it w

% and jon huntsman with the excitement of his launch, 2%. romney, sticking his economic message and letting the craziness go on around him. >> they have run a very good opening portion of their campaign except one part of it. i'm surprised at the money. it's under $20 million. while it lasts, it's fine in compareson. four years ago, he was less known. you wonder where is the establishment. there's still a pot of money sitting on the sidelines that has gone to no one. maybe they are waiting for an alternative or say romney is figuring this out, he's on message, fine. all of a sudden, the second quarter number for romney is greater than the first. that could put away the race earlier than expected. that's the one part that surprises me. romney failed to ignite the money crowd around him and he's been flawless on message. >> the twitter town hall, we must clarify, the questions are twittered in. tweeted in. >> and the president doesn't type. >> it's not 140 characters. >> no hash tags. >> all right. what is the point behind it? a new way of reaching out and social networking. it hey, look at t
